In 1985 Barbara created, wrote, and drew Angel Love, a comic book for teenagers. Angel moves to New York to become an artist, but discovers that life holds many dangers. She falls in love with a cocaine addict, her girlfriend becomes pregnant, and her mother is dying.  But through it all, Angel triumphs.  Her wanna-be actress/model roommate and the talking cockroaches balance the drama with humor. DC Comics published this 9-part maxi-series in 1987-88.
