Barbara created Yuppies From Hell, an adult satire, in 1989. Marvel Comics published 3 annual issues in 1990-92. The second volume is titled Son of Yuppies From Hell, and the third is Sex, Lies, and Mutual Funds of Yuppies From Hell.

In 1985 Barbara created Angel Love, a comic book for teenagers. Angel moves to New York to become an artist, but discovers that life holds many dangers. The man she falls in love with is a cocaine addict, her girlfriend becomes pregnant, and her mother is dying. But Angel's ditzy roomate and the talking cockroaches balance the drama with humor. DC Comics published this 9-part maxi-series in 1987-88.
